TEAM BACKGROUND
You will be a part of the Marketing & Communication team at Decathlon, with a specific focus on Decathlon’s Brand Awareness and positioning, to sustain Decathlon as the most loved Sports brand in India. You will be the architect of our brand narrative, ensuring that whether someone is hiking or playing cricket in a gully, Decathlon is their first reference for all sporting needs.

JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Your role is about more than market share; it’s about moving people through sport. You will combine strategic vision with a 'playmaker' mindset to elevate Decathlon’s presence across India. By fostering deep-rooted loyalty and protecting our brand’s unique equity, you’ll ensure we remain the most trusted teammate for every Indian sport enthusiast. Your leadership will be the catalyst that turns casual users into lifelong fans, securing our legacy as a brand that makes sport accessible to the many."
1/ Brand Strategy & Vision: Define and execute the long-term brand positioning for Decathlon India, aligning global guidelines with local cultural nuances.
2/ Custodian of Brand Identity across all platforms.
3/ Market Research & Consumer Insights : Commission and interpret consumer research to inform strategy and decision-making.Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer insights, and market dynamics to anticipate opportunities and challenges for the brand.
4/ Leadership & Team Development : Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team while fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.
5/ Content & Creative Excellence : Authentic Storytelling: Lead the creation of high-impact brand assets—from videos to community-led social stories—that capture the real sweat and joy of sport. Playmaker Leadership: Captain our internal creative squads and external partners to ensure every touchpoint feels like "One Decathlon," blending innovation with our signature brand grit. Set the pace for creative excellence, ensuring every execution—be it a PR campaign or a website interface—is as functional, vibrant, and accessible as our products.
6/ Manage the brand budget effectively and optimize resources to achieve maximum brand impact.
7/ Data-Driven Growth: Own the brand health metrics (NPS, Top-of-Mind Awareness, Consideration). You’ll translate complex consumer insights into actionable marketing strategies.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Passion for sport, you like to enjoy sport with your teammates
You have an entrepreneurial mindset, a strong sense of responsibility, autonomy and drive for results. Ownership and being action oriented to drive results in spite of constraints will be key.
Ability to storytell and strong communication skills tailored made for internal and external audiences.
Recognized capacity to understand business needs, bring structure in a complex environment and lead action plans
Strong data analysis skills, ability to perform data analysis and make data-driven decisions.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Brand marketing roles.
Prior experience in retail or omni channel organisations is a plus.
A Masters degree in marketing is a plus.
