Our Footwear Production Team is looking for a Field Test Engineer - Permanent Contract based in Bengaluru (India)
YOUR MISSION
As part of the Footwear Production team, you will ensure “in real-world” conditions and directly with our users—that our products perfectly meet our quality, performance, and Fitting requirements. We offer a permanent contract, starting from September 2026.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Lead Field Test Engineer (FTE), you will drive the Fitting tests validation of Footwear products within our Sports Category. Working in close collaboration with the Production team (Production Industrialization Manager, Production Industrialization Specialist, Suppliers Development Team) & Conception team, your missions will focus on 3 main pillars:
1. Fitting Test Management and performance Excellence
Be trained & coached on the fitting tests protocols by Decathlon referent to reach the mastering level & autonomy excellence.
Plan & drive the execution of fitting tests : from recruiting tester panels to conducting testers foot measurements, and organising & performing the fitting tests.
Analyze, model, formalize, and deliver fitting tests reports to the project team, to enhance the Development & Industrialization timeline & milestones.
Advice & alert (in case of) the Development & Industrialization teams on the fitting quality level of the models we will produce in India.
Improve product fitting excellence by collaborating with production industrialization specialists by giving the concrete feedback of what could be improved before to industrialize the models.
Feedback to the fitting tests referents what could be improved in the protocols or documents.
2. Testers & Partners Management & ownership
Develop our network of testers & partners and manage them.
Grow the testers community and guarantee the reliability & protection of their data.
Map the school & universities, sports clubs, associations and create a mapping roadmap to source & transform.
Define & validate the dotation policy with HR & legal team for the testers.
Create partnership with the schools & universities, sports clubs, associations, to develop the pool of testers consistently.
Formalize & ensure the contracts are signed & capitalize for each partnership to ensure sustainable legal compliance.
Organize & lead testers measurement sessions to complete our data base.
Define and pilot each seasonal test workload and maintain strict budget tracking.
Act as a key player for internal synergies: train and support local teams to develop autonomy and skills regarding fitting tests.
3. Capitalization & Communication
Capitalize all the documents in a team drive to ensure the data access for everyone.
Ensure the data are uptodate for the testers, partner, planning, reports.
Guarantee the reliability of results in the face of business/production challenges.
Communicating in real time the results for each model's fitting report to support the product timeline is respected.
Build the human / training plan to enlarge the fitting test capability & sustainability for FIC India production team.
Analyse the fitting report level of the models vs the retail customers feedback to detect any gap and improvement needs.
Propose innovative processes to optimize product feedback loops.
Profile
Your background: A Master’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent scientific/technical field, or alternative experience showcasing your analytical abilities.
Your experience: A young profile, as first professional experience or, 1 or 2 years only is expected, but with strong project management , organizational sense & logical & scientific mindset.
Your technical appetite: A solid interest in digital tools, statistical analysis, and mass data collection systems.
Your language skills: Fluency in English (Local language is a plus).
Scientific objectivity: A factual, methodical mind paired with a natural approach to objectivity.
Collaboration & Listening: High active listening capacity and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with people from all horizons.
Constructive "counter-power" posture: The ability to structure and express your ideas objectively to guarantee customer expectations and the neutrality of results.
