RESPONSIBILITY 1 :
OBSERVE HUMAN (UX & CX), SPORTS, AND CURRENT TRENDS, THEN EXPLORE NEEDS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Collect useful data for the evolution of my product range (function/emotion)
• Stay informed about sports, design, and artistic culture, as well as socio-cultural contexts,  to feed my creativity
• Monitor the global market, codes, and trends for sports within my scope.
• Stay up-to-date on techniques and processes for Hard/Soft goods products 
• Adopt Decathlon's global creative framework (Creative directions, branding, the 5 moves...) and Customer Experience guidelines.
• Integrate the major issues of sports users and target customers identified by the product manager
• Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact.
• Feed the vision work, master plan, project plan and product brief

Analyse needs and opportunities to imagine new concepts
• Combine market and user knowledge to qualify the functional target (Use)
• Combine creative directions and sports codes to qualify the emotional target (Seduction)
• Analyze the competition to identify their range structures, product architecture, processes, and formal language, and product advantages of competitors

Translate creative strategies
• Feed the work of global design strategies, in the short, medium and long term. (Director's plan included)
• Translate creative directions taking into account the context of its scop
• Participate in functional analyses and value analysis on high-stakes products
• Structure the range upgrade (components - finishes - functional concepts or use - product advantage expression) in functional and emotional terms.
• Adopt the branding guidelines and translate them into a marking charter for my scope.

RESPONSIBILITY 2 :
CREATE AND BRING TO LIFE EXCLUSIVE CONCEPTS THAT ARE SUSTAINABLE, BEAUTIFUL, FUNCTIONAL AND AFFORDABLE

Create the structure, style and user experience of concepts
• Define and illustrate usage scenarios that address insights.
• Define the construction that meets the product's use case
• Define the product's assembly types, adapted to the chosen process:
     - Soft goods: Fit, assembly, stitching, bias, elastic, etc.
     - Soft & Hard goods: Plastic injection, welding, gluing, ribs, etc.
• Define the appearance and finishes of materials.
     - Soft goods: Weight, drape, opacity, weave, feel of fabrics.
     - Soft & Hard goods: Hardness, elasticity, texture, opacity, treatment, grain of plastics and metals.
• Maximise the use of chassis, platforms (technologies), and modules (sub-assemblies) when they meet project requirements.
• Balance eco-design / design for circularity, usage excellence, and style.
• Produce formal and functional research work in line with the structure of the range upgrade and the product language of my scope.
• Ideate & create concept ideas, mocks with the team. Define lines, structure through multiple concept directions.
• Transform concepts using 3D CADs to visualise the overall product form, function, aesthetic.
• Materialise physical or digital concepts.
• Work with 3rd Party Vendors to prototype / 3D Print your concept directions.
• Formalise the complete and final rendering of the concept (function, form, and aesthetics).
• Develop the project / range narrative (storytelling) to explain my creative process and choices.
• Organize my workload and adapt the creative process to the project.

Create the cosmetics of the concepts
• Feed the CMFG work, when writing long, medium and short term cosmetic strategies (markers)
• Define the logic for color application / color blocking, type, and graphics, in accordance with the storytelling defined by CMF and the creative direction.
• Integrate eco-design principles into my cosmetic choices
     - Soft goods: Dyeing process, process impression, etc…
     - Soft & Hard goods: Painting process, molds for cosmetics, etc.
• Follow the guidelines and highlight the branding (placement, process, etc.) according to my market

Evaluate and prescribe the best concept
• Ensure the technical feasibility of my choices, in collaboration with the technical team
• Guarantee the satisfaction (function/appeal) of users/customers of the final concept (perceived value - experienced value)
• Argue my choices during the design validation milestones

RESPONSIBILITY 3 :
DEVELOP AND VALIDATE THE PRODUCT IN TERMS OF STRUCTURE, STYLE AND COSMETICS ASPECTS

Ensure the creative intent of the concept during product development, up to its industrialisation
• Collaborate with suppliers on product fine-tuning, based on the prototype/sample.
• Control and modify the product's aesthetics and ergonomics (the user experience), based on feedback from labs, users, and customers.
• Produce and update design deliverables that can be used by the engineering teams and the supplier (2D & 3D)

Validate the emotional and functional value of the product up to the development sample
• Check, validate and sign the development sample and its digital twin (to be defined with the digital chain) in terms of function and appeal to the user/client (user experience/ perception)
• Launch perception tests (including co-creation)
• Validate all product modifications or evolutions after signing off on the development sample (Continuous improvement)

Capitalise on my projects
• Save the design packs in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), including 3D files.
• Make available the visuals necessary for range reviews and selections
• Provide the technical documents necessary for the legal protection of high-stakes products (economic, brand image/hero, innovation).
• Archive all exploration work (workshops, exploration, research, storytelling, etc.) in a shared space
• Debrief with the project team the progress and methodology applied during the project

Other Details :
• A graduate with Bachelors or Masters degree in Product / Industrial Design (especially from NID, IIT, MIT or relevant colleges)
4-7 yrs of experience in product / industrial design (sports goods or equipment design will be a cherry on the cake)
• Has strong material expertise (wood, plastics, metals, foam) paired with advanced manufacturing know how and product development skills (an expert on how to transform conceptual designs into tangible experiences).
Proficient in Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop), 3D design tools (Blender, Rhino, Keyshot) & AI tools (Vizcom, Gemini)
• You come with a strong understanding of fundamental product / industrial design principles, CMF & graphics.
